Quebec Issues 1,007 Canada Immigration Invitations In New Expression Of Interest Draw

Immigration to Quebec has announced the details of a new draw through Arrima Expression of Interest system, issuing 1007 invitations to immigrate to Canada to apply.

The February 22 draw targeted two different groups of candidates, with February 19 listed as the date of withdrawal by Arrima bank.

In the first group, candidates needed a speaking ability in French of level 7 or higher on the Quebec proficiency scale and scored at least 608 points in Expression of interest points system in Quebec.

In the second group, candidates also needed a French speaking ability of level 7 or higher on the Quebec proficiency scale and a job offer outside the Montreal metropolitan area.

There was no minimum score for these candidates.

How does Expression of Interest work in Quebec?

  1. Candidates submit an expression of interest profile online through Arrima.
  2. Profiles enter an Expression of Interest group, where they are ranked against each other using a points system and are valid for 12 months.
  3. The highest ranking candidates are invited to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program through periodic draws.
  4. Candidates who receive an invitation have 60 days to submit a complete application.
  5. Approved candidates who receive a certificate of nomination (CSQ) can then apply to the federal government for Canadian permanent residence.
