Saskatchewan Issues 35 Canada Immigration Invitations In New PNP Draw

Saskatchewan has issued 35 invitations to immigrate to Canada in a new Expression of Interest draw through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program.

The March 7 draw featured 14 invitations through the province’s in-demand occupations stream and 21 through its Express Entry stream.

Invitations targeted 26 national occupational classification codes and required a minimum score of 89.

What is the process for expressions of interest in Saskatchewan?

  1. Submit profile EOI.
  2. Enter the EOI candidate pool.
  3. EOI candidates selected.
  4. Invitations to apply are issued through regular draws.
  5. Candidates submit the complete application within 60 days.
  6. SINP officials evaluate the applications and make a decision.

What are the requirements for the occupation subcategory in the application?

  • Obtain a minimum of 60 points on the SINP scoring grid;
  • Have a language score of at least 4. Employers and regulatory bodies may require more;
  • Have completed one year of post-secondary education, training or internship comparable to the Canadian education system. You must have earned a degree, certificate or diploma.
    • Degrees and diplomas earned outside of Canada are subject to an Educational Credential Assessment;
  • At least one year of work experience in the last 10 years:
    • In your field of education or training profession, and
    • In an eligible occupation in NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3. See list of exempt occupations.
  • Obtain the appropriate license in Saskatchewan if your field requires it, as authorities will not process an application without a license.
  • Have proof of repayment funds and a repayment plan.
  • Pay a non-refundable $300 application fee online.

What are the requirements for the Saskatchewan Express Entry subcategory?

Candidates from outside Canada, or with legal status in Canada, are eligible for this category of immigration to Saskatchewan, provided they are not refugee claimants.

In addition, candidates must:

  • Have a profile in the Express Entry Pool, with the profile number and jobseeker authentication code;
  • Obtain a minimum of 60 points on the SINP scoring grid;
  • Provide valid language test results from a designated testing agency that match those in the Express Entry profile;
  • Have completed one year of post-secondary education, training or internship comparable to the Canadian education system. You must have earned a degree, certificate or diploma.
    • Degrees and diplomas earned outside of Canada are subject to an Educational Credential Assessment;
  • You have at least one of the following experience requirements in your field of education or training profession:
    • One year of work experience in the last 10 years in a skilled occupation (non-trade);
    • Two years of work experience in a qualified profession in the last five years; OR
    • One year of work experience in Canada in the last three years (commercial and non-commercial).
  • Have work experience in a qualified occupation and qualified in NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3. See list of excluded occupations.
  • Obtain the appropriate license in Saskatchewan where your profession is regulated, or a skilled trade. For skilled trades, a certificate from the Saskatchewan Trade and Practice Certification Commission is required.
  • Have proof of repayment funds and a repayment plan.
  • Pay a non-refundable $300 application fee online.
